Linda began feeling sick on Monday, but the family thought it was the flu. By Saturday morning she was unresponsive and therefore was air evaced to St. Joseph’s hospital in St. Charles. She never regained consciousness. Apparently an infection attached itself to her heart, which caused a heart attack. The infection entered her blood stream and spread to her major organs. After it became apparent that the intravenous antibiotics were not conquering the infection, the doctors began an aggressive dialysis to cleanse her blood. She passed during dialysis.
