The Bible is the absolute truth but when we allow human thoughts and beliefs come in, then compromise and finally corruption will take place. The Bible says: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” (Colossians 2:8 KJV) In the absence of sound teaching, distortions of truth will always rush in to fill the vacuum. That is way it is so important that we know God’s Word, we believe God’s Word and we obey God’s Word. But remember, we can know God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation and we can even believe it, but the most important thing we need to do is to obey it. Obedience is proof that we love God and believe in His Word. The Bible says: “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1 John 5:1-5 KJV) We have seen in the Bible that God’s Word is truth; God’s Word is the Light; God’s Word is a treasure; I could take the next year and tell you about God’s Word and still not cover it all. The Bible says: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 KJV) God’s inspired Word reveals all that a person is and all that they can become. God’s Word shows us where we are wrong in our thoughts, words, actions and so on. But, it also tells us how to correct that wrong living. “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (Ephesians 4:17-24 KJV) When we do not know God’s Word, we cannot very well obey it. Know it, believe it and obey it!
